Freelancers are often asked to work for free. Some do, as part of their volunteering commitment.
But on the whole, freelancers make a living from charging fair rates for the value they add.
So please don't embarrass our freelancers or small consultants by asking them to work for free. They are professionals in their field and we respect that.
Honesty and transparency is important in everything we do, and we love to see these values in our consultants and charity clients too.
We really appreciate it when charities are honest about the scale of the brief and any tricky problems and issues therein. It won't scare us off, we'll just be better prepared.
We expect freelancers to be honest about what they can and can't do and what they will need to deliver on time and on budget.
We are big on doing what we say we'll do to the deadline we agreed. But we're realists too. Sometimes stuff happens and things get delayed. That's when it's important to be honest and let people know as soon as you know there's a problem. That way we can all build trust and stay reliable.
Equally we love charity clients who stick to their end of the bargain too, things like paying invoices on time is really important to small consultancies and freelancers.
At Freelance Finders we believe in the power of collaboration. The Collaborative Advantage is our USP. So we love it when our freelancers collaborate on projects and share their expertise. That's the Freelance Finder Alchemy!
We want to be inclusive so that everyone feels like part of the team. Reach out to each other, learn about each other, involve and help each other. This isn't just a directory, it's a community.
At Freelance Finders we won't tolerate inappropriate behaviour of any kind. Nor do we tolerate standing by and doing nothing. If you see bad behaviour, don't look the other way, challenge it.
We're not sure whether fun is really a value. But we think it should be, because when you stop having fun, you stop! So we encourage all of our freelancers and charity clients to inject an bit of fun into each other's lives at every opportunity.
